The four-layer construction includes a Safetac wound contact layer, absorbent foam layer, spreading layer for even fluid distribution, and a highly breathable waterproof backing film. As a self-adherent bordered dressing, Mepilex Border Flex Lite does not require secondary fixation — it stays on by itself, even on contoured or mobile body areas.

Designed specifically for non-to-low exuding wounds, Border Flex Lite is thinner and lighter than the standard Mepilex Border Flex. This makes it ideal for situations where a full-thickness foam would be excessive — such as skin tears, superficial abrasions, blisters, or protecting fragile skin at risk of breakdown.

Mepilex Border Flex Lite is available in 5 sizes: 4 cm × 5 cm (10/box), 5 cm × 12.5 cm (5/box), 7.5 cm × 7.5 cm (5/box), 10 cm × 10 cm (5/box), and 15 cm × 15 cm (5/box). All sizes are sold in sterile boxes.

What is the difference between Border Flex and Border Flex Lite?

Both use the same 360° Flex technology and Safetac adhesion. The difference is thickness and absorption capacity. Border Flex is a five-layer dressing designed for moderate to high exudate wounds. Border Flex Lite is a thinner four-layer dressing designed for non-to-low exudate wounds. Choose Lite when a full-thickness foam would be excessive for the wound.

How long can Mepilex Border Flex Lite stay on?

Mepilex Border Flex Lite may stay on for several days. Change the dressing before it is fully saturated, at signs of leakage, or as indicated by clinical practice. The waterproof outer film means patients can shower with the dressing in place.

Can Border Flex Lite be used on fragile skin?

Yes. The Safetac silicone wound contact layer is specifically designed for gentle adhesion that minimizes skin stripping and pain on removal.
