Mepilex XT is a non-bordered soft silicone foam dressing from Mölnlycke with integrated exudate channels designed to rapidly draw fluid away from the wound bed into the absorbent foam pad. It absorbs more fluid, and absorbs it faster, than standard foam dressings — handling both low and high viscosity exudate across all stages of the wound healing process. This enhanced absorption may contribute to longer wear time and fewer dressing changes.
Like all Mepilex dressings, Mepilex XT features a Safetac silicone wound contact layer that seals wound edges to prevent exudate from leaking onto surrounding skin, minimizing the risk of maceration. The Safetac layer also allows for painless dressing changes and can be lifted for wound inspection without losing adhesion. As a non-bordered dressing, Mepilex XT requires secondary fixation and stays in place hands-free under compression or retention bandages.
Mepilex XT is available in 6 sizes: 5 cm × 5 cm, 10 cm × 10 cm, 10 cm × 20 cm, 15 cm × 15 cm, 20 cm × 20 cm, and 20 cm × 50 cm. The larger sizes can be cut to fit irregular wound shapes. All sizes are sold in boxes of sterile dressings.
