Melgisorb Plus is a soft, highly absorbent alginate dressing from Molnlycke made from calcium sodium alginate fibres. On contact with wound fluid or saline, the fibres create a gel that absorbs and retains exudate while maintaining a moist wound environment. Once gelled, Melgisorb Plus does not adhere to the wound site, supporting comfortable removal at dressing changes. The dressing also has haemostatic ability.

Melgisorb Plus is intended for a wide range of moderately to heavily exuding wounds, both infected and non-infected, including pressure injuries, venous and arterial ulcers, diabetic ulcers, post-operative wounds, dermal lesions, and trauma wounds. The dressing is soft, pliable, easy to use, and can be cut to shape.
This collection includes 4 sizes: three flat pad dressings (5 x 5cm, 10 x 10cm, and 10 x 20cm) and one cavity dressing (3 x 45cm) for packing deep wounds and tunnelling wounds. All dressings are sterile, individually packaged, and require a secondary dressing for fixation. How does Melgisorb Plus work?
