Mesorb Dressings

Ships within Canada only.

Mesorb is a soft, ultra-absorbent dressing from Molnlycke that can retain large amounts of exudate. The dressing features a highly absorbent fluff pulp core, dual permeable nonwoven diffusion layers, and a unique air-permeable, fluid-repellent strike-through barrier that prevents soiling of clothing and bed linen. The barrier covers all sides of the dressing to also prevent side leakage.

Read More About Mesorb Dressings

Mesorb is intended for use on moderate to heavily exuding wounds. It can be used as a primary dressing directly on the wound, or as a secondary dressing where high absorbency is required — for example, over a primary dressing that transfers exudate such as Mepitel or Exufiber. Mesorb can be used under compression bandages and may be left in place for up to 7 days depending on wound and skin condition.

This collection includes 6 sizes: 10 x 13cm, 13 x 15cm, 10 x 23cm, and 15 x 23cm (50 per box), plus 23 x 25cm and 23 x 30cm (30 per box). All dressings are sterile and individually packaged. Mesorb requires fixation with tape such as Mepitac soft silicone tape, Mefix fabric tape, or a non-adhesive fixation product. Apply with the white side facing the wound.

Mesorb Dressings FAQ
What sizes does Mesorb come in?
Mesorb is available in six sizes: 10 x 13cm, 13 x 15cm, 10 x 23cm, and 15 x 23cm (50 per box), plus 23 x 25cm and 23 x 30cm (30 per box). All dressings are sterile and individually packaged.
Can Mesorb be used as a primary or secondary dressing?
Both. Mesorb can be applied directly on the wound as a primary dressing, or over another dressing as a secondary dressing where high absorbency is required. When used as a secondary dressing, place it over a primary dressing that transfers exudate, such as a wound contact layer or gelling fibre dressing.
How does the strike-through barrier work?
Mesorb has an air-permeable, fluid-repellent backing that prevents exudate from striking through to the outside of the dressing. The barrier covers all sides of the dressing, including the edges, to also prevent side leakage. This protects clothing and bed linen from soiling and reduces the frequency of dressing changes.
How long can Mesorb stay in place?
Mesorb may be left in place for up to 7 days depending on wound and skin condition, or as directed by your healthcare provider. Change the dressing before it is fully saturated or if the condition of the wound deteriorates.
Does Mesorb require fixation?
Yes. Mesorb is not self-adhesive and requires fixation with tape or a bandage. Molnlycke recommends Mepitac soft silicone tape for fragile skin, Mefix fabric tape for general fixation, or a non-adhesive fixation product. Mesorb can also be used under compression bandages.
