Like the standard-thickness version, the dressing has a semi-permeable top film that is waterproof and bacteria-proof, and features a 3-piece non-touch opening for easy and aseptic application. Each dressing can be worn for up to 7 days depending on wound conditions.
Biatain Silicone Lite is indicated for a wide range of non-to-low exuding chronic and acute wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, non-infected diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, postoperative wounds, and traumatic wounds including skin abrasions, skin tears, and cuts. It can be used in combination with compression therapy.
Biatain Silicone Lite dressings are available in 5 sizes: 5 x 5cm, 5 x 12.5cm, 7.5 x 7.5cm, 10 x 10cm, and 12.5 x 12.5cm. The 5 x 12.5cm rectangular option is useful for narrow wounds or incision lines. All are not made with natural rubber latex.
For wounds producing moderate to heavy exudate that need greater absorption, the standard-thickness Biatain Silicone Bordered provides more capacity. For wounds where no adhesive border is wanted, Biatain Silicone Non-Border can be cut to fit and used under compression.
