Mesalt Sodium Chloride Ribbon Dressing 2 x 100cm

Mesalt 2 x 100cm Ribbon is a sterile sodium chloride impregnated ribbon dressing from Molnlycke designed to stimulate the cleansing of moderate to heavily exuding deep wounds. The absorbent viscose/polyester non-woven ribbon is impregnated with sodium chloride, which creates an osmotic effect and a hypertonic environment in the wound. As wound discharge contacts the dressing, the sodium chloride is released, drawing out exudate containing bacteria and necrotic material to facilitate natural wound healing. The ribbon format is designed for loosely packing into cavity wounds, fistulas, and other deep wound sites. Mesalt is strong enough to withstand handling during use and removal. Each box contains 10 individually packaged sterile ribbon dressings.

Who Is It For

Mesalt 2 x 100cm Ribbon is intended for the management of moderate to heavily exuding non-infected and infected deep wounds such as cavity wounds, fistulas, pressure injuries, and foot ulcers. Loosely fill the wound with the ribbon. It requires a secondary dressing for fixation. Compression therapy may be used in conjunction with Mesalt where clinically indicated.

Important Notes

• Do not allow contact with exposed bone or tendon
• Change when saturated, at least once daily
• Single-use only; do not re-sterilize
