Mepitel Film is Molnlycke's transparent, breathable film dressing with Safetac soft silicone adhesive. Unlike traditional film dressings that use acrylic adhesive, the silicone layer adheres gently to dry skin and removes without causing skin stripping, pain, or residue. The film is fully transparent for continuous monitoring of the skin underneath, showerproof, and acts as a barrier against bacteria and viruses larger than 25 nm.
The 10 x 25 cm size is the second most popular in the Mepitel Film range. Its elongated shape provides coverage for larger or longer areas such as forearms, shins, abdominal incisions, or along the chest wall. This is one of the two larger sizes, so the dressing should overlap surrounding dry skin by 5 cm to ensure secure fixation.
