Mepiform is a self-adherent soft silicone scar dressing from Molnlycke designed for the management of both old and new hypertrophic and keloid scars. It can also be used as a preventive therapy on closed wounds to reduce the risk of abnormal scarring. Mepiform features Safetac technology — a soft silicone contact layer that adheres gently to the skin without causing pain or trauma at removal.
The dressing is thin, discreet, and flexible, making it comfortable to wear under clothing. It is breathable and showerproof, and should be worn for up to 24 hours a day for optimal results. Remove once daily for skin inspection and washing, then reapply. Under normal conditions, replace the dressing every 7 days or when adhesion is no longer sufficient.
Mepiform is available in 3 sizes: 5 x 7.5cm for small scars, 4 x 30cm for long linear scars such as surgical incisions, and 10 x 18cm for larger scars requiring broad coverage. All sizes can be cut to shape with a minimum 1cm overlap beyond the scar edges. All dressings are sterile and individually packaged, with 5 per box.
