Sold individually (1/Each). The Med-Aire 8" is an alternating-pressure and low-air-loss mattress system with a control unit, for pressure ulcer prevention and treatment.
The control unit runs 10-minute alternating cycles or holds a static mode. Adjustable weight settings set the right immersion for the patient, and an audio and visual alarm warns if air pressure drops. The system uses 20 individual 8-inch air cells with a pillow section for head support; the cells remove and replace with air-leakage plugs.
It is used to prevent, treat, and help heal pressure ulcers on a homecare or long-term-care bed. A CPR valve deflates the mattress quickly in an emergency.
